Yog-Kulam
Yoga. Education. Community.
We bring the discipline of yoga into modern classrooms, pairing timeless practice with contemporary teaching so children and communities can grow stronger together.
What Is Yog-Kulam?
Yoga means union. Kulam describes a place of learning and excellence, in the spirit of the traditional Guru-Kulam. Together, the name captures what we’re building: a home for studying, teaching and researching yoga rooted in its original traditions.
We work to carry the authentic knowledge of yoga forward into today’s classrooms, treating it not as a single lesson but as a way of living — and we’re always keen to connect with other organisations who share that goal.
Our Programmes
HappYoga
A playful, movement-based introduction to yoga for children, first launched to keep young people active and grounded during lockdown and now continuing as an ongoing programme.
Breathe Yoga
Developed with researchers at universities across Yorkshire, this programme explores how mindfulness and breathing practice can best support young people at school.
Teacher Training
Yoga has been part of life in the UK since the 1960s, and its benefits are well documented. Our training passes that knowledge on to the next generation of instructors.
